Can Transpotainment Bring Back Broadway?

The Honorable José Huizar, with support from Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, theater and property owners, have a vision for Bringing Back Broadway, by Bringing Back the Street Car.

A sustainable ecosystem, funding strategies, and leveraging private investment were all topics of discussion with multiple panels from Portland and Seattle addressing action steps to further the possibilities of making a Downtown LA street car a pedestrian reality.

We all know what happen to the RED CAR, Yellow Car, on down the line, poof! Maybe four to six dollar a gallon petrol will be a catalyst to push the Street Car through. I'm sure local hotels, Staples & Nokia Live and property owners along the routes will champion the idea that street cars drive development and put people on the streets.

Overall it's a good idea to go back to the future. Thanks Eric and Russell for the invite and all your hard work!

The Downtown Los Angeles Film Festival

Beautifully Concieved! Ok I'm running outta' adjectives...

The Downtown Film Fest Los Angeles...it does have a certain ring to it. Visions of the famed search lights kaleidoscoping up and down Broadway like days of olde, pulling up curbside to the Los Angeles Theater in a 1929 Duesenberg J.

My buddy Vince slaps me on the back and jarred me from my brain freeze ...hey! That's what I was seeing gazing over the rail from Barker Block Lofts as they were hosting the The Downtown Los Angeles Film Fest.

Rodger Mayer the Program Director of DTFFLA told me they had 11 features, 61 shorts and documentries lined up. It appears to be getting support at every level from the city on down and how could it not, Blade Runner, enough said.

Downtown LA already has backlot status, you don't even need a tram to be trucked around in... if tourist only knew they could see more sets Downtown LA for free. ssshh.
